They are some great pics.
Almost an S1 CDT but not if you get what I am thinking.
Thanks for sharing, such a shame she was lost.

G'Day fellas :D

Wondering if I could find out a bit more about these cars?
Seeing as this site is the only one of it's kind dedicated to the CDT era.

Is there a post or thread that breaks down what an S1 was S2, S3, SS?

I know that you could spec the car with what you wanted, CDT SS001 had the order/ parts list still in the glove box. listing everything from a stage head, carbs, manifolds, turbo kits, and staged engines from memory (as I no longer have them) the turbo kit was around $1600 or $1800 with all needed parts to fit it up.

Still in my shed is the brochure that I have seen part of posted (and I found an old posting on a google search that had some good scans of the brochure)
and the horn center.
Parts of the car don't add up from what I have picked up on but the horn center is.... well... real.

Your correct but on a laptop the pic is still too big to view the full pic, saving and viewing on pc allows full view.

S1 & S2 had the same body specs flares etc

S2 had twin webers big cam and decarbon shocks

S3 Te had same body flaring some different stripes, turbo biger exhuast

SS had no flares but were an option came in 4 speed and 5 speed had any CDT gemini options Turbo cams big bore 1800's etc

The Horn button looks correct to me, if you ahve any interia phot's be good too

I have a parts catalog and price list that I need to get scanned and on here?

Thanks Murray,

the break down of the different models is a great help to me to understand what the SS1 was.

the inside photo is not the greatest keep in mind these pictures were taken with a instamatic 35mm.

This car had the tacho in the center console gauges, sports wheel (well worn). A sun roof had been added at some time and roof mount antenna both of which I am quite sure were not CDT options... I remember one night I had a ride in a zz/z and hunted for a tacho dash for ages after that, no luck though...

all in all I prefer the look of the SS's without flares, thats just my opinion though. I loved just driving that car, it's road holding was like nothing I had driven before and since and I have driven most thing on the market, even with todays technology I remember the feel of the Gem on road weather cruzing ,touring or just giving it heaps it was just dialed in.

cheers all

Yeps pretty well an SS Tim

Did it have a VDO 52mm Taco in the 3 gauges, Oil Taco amps

Some of the SS may of had no guages.

The S1's had the Taco in the consol set of 3 as above mentioned but any CDT could have the Taco dash retrofited.

The Bathurst Globe mags were used as the Rebel 4 spokes were a nightmare with continual leaks, so Bob Morrow of Buerepairs convince Jim & James to ditch them and run the Bathurst Globes, there were some Simons mags used and Cheviot's but mainly the 13x6 Bathust Globes were used to replace the leaking Rebels.
